Mr. Linner grew up and was educated in Saskatoon, graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 1967. He received an Honors equivalent degree specializing in urban geography and economics.

Bob Linner was a municipal leader in Saskatchewan for 39 years, retiring in 2006 after 19 years as City Manager in Regina and 11 in Prince Albert. He served as President of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators and was awarded the distinguished Lieutenant Governor’s Gold Medal Award for excellence in public administration. He has participated on or chaired a number of public policy forums and Commissions. He has recently served on or continues to serve eight other boards, notably Chair of Regina Habitat for Humanity, Chair of Regina Airport Authority, Vice-Chair of Saskatchewan Housing Corporation and Chair of Regina Civic Employees Pension Trustees. He was Saskatchewan Vice-Chair of Canada West Foundation Board and Chaired both the Strategic Planning and Audit and Finance Committees.

Mr. Linner is passionately committed to western Canada. He has dedicated his career to governance and integrity, and municipal government. He continues his commitment through his current board and community affiliations and speaking engagements.

– 2010 Honorary Life Membership Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators
– 2010 Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal
– 2005 Saskatchewan Centennial Commemorative Medal Provincial Contributions
– 2004 SUMA Scoop Lewry Award for Distinctive Municipal Advancement
– 2003 Lieutenant Governor’s IPAC Medal for Public Administration Leadership
