Policy Analyst Shafak Sajid has done extensive research in natural resources policy and trade infrastructure. Her focus is on public support, climate and environment, and trade policy. She has co-authored several research papers and newspaper op-eds since joining the Foundation in 2013, as has been interviewed in the media.
In her native country of Pakistan, Shafak worked on WHO-funded projects on health, micro-finance and curriculum development. She earned a Masters in Public Policy (University of Calgary) after she moved to Canada in 2011 and has a Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in Economics (Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan). She was previously a policy analyst with the Calgary Chamber, leading Aboriginal and human capital policy files.
